Merry Christmas Eve Eve! I am excited to be here because, well…Christmas! 2019 was a good one. My wife and I are expecting baby number 2. We find out the baby’s gender tomorrow. YASSSS! I launched a business that is slowly making it’s way to profitable. I love Christmas time because it reminds me of all the things I am thankful for. Honestly, today has been a great day as I am filled with holiday cheer. I am sure my Christmas will be filled with wonderful things like socks and funkos. But I decided to put together a Christmas list of things I hope to see in 2020.
Baby Boy
I know beggars can’t be choosers. I know there are people who struggle to have children. My wife and I have been through it. Ultimately, I want a healthy baby of course and I will love the baby no matter what. However, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t hopeful for another boy. My wife and I have always envisioned ourselves as boy parents. I hope we continue that train. We find out soon enough.
Do It All Marketing Growth
I am hoping 2020 is a fruitful year for business. With a few new clients in place to start the new year, I would love to see the company increase the profit margin 2-3 times, which is very manageable. It has been quite the ride thus far. Trying to get something off the ground is an absolute pain in the ass, but I’m making it happen one day at a time. I do my best to not look too far ahead because then I start getting in my own head. Not a fun place to be.
Dad Bod Progress
I began working out again on October 23rd thanks to an awful picture of me. It was the kick in the ass I needed. Since then, 3-4 times in the gym most weeks. Last week was the first time where I went less than three. My body fat percentage floated somewhere in between 23-24 when I began. Now, I am down to 18-19 percent. I am feeling better. I am looking better. Working out has become fun again. Sometimes you just need a break and a recharge. I am hoping to reach a sub 16% body level in the next two months and just maintain.
Hotard Huddle Growth
Speaking of recharge. I took a 8-9 month break from Hotard Huddle before relaunching earlier this year. I wish I could say I don’t care about the number of readers. The reality is, I do. I want to see tangible progress in my blog. When I don’t see it, I get frustrated. Lately, the numbers have been down and I also have not been as motivated to post. Writers block has been an absolute bitch lately. In 2019, I saw a massive increase in traffic despite a smaller following after I foolishly deleted the old Facebook page for the blog resulting in roughly 400 or so lost followers. Never again. As the traffic on the site grows, I hope to land a sponsor or two for the blog by the end of 2020. I also like using the blog as a guinea pig for social media marketing. That helps.
Brady Brees Super Bowl
IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN! I want it bad. The last two years, I was hoping to see the clash of the titans. Unfortunately, it didn’t go that way. This would go down as THE most watched Super Bowl to date. You can mark my words on that. The Saints and Patriots move the needle more than just about anyone minus the Cowboys. The Saints are likeable and people love a good villain (Patriots). It would also feature two first ballot Hall of Fame Quarterbacks and two top 5 QBs ever. Please universe, let it happen.
AEW Video Game
I have loved every minute of All Elite Wrestling since launching their weekly show, Dynamite. As the brand grows, the reach and the products will grow. Yukes video game developer recently pulled away from WWE licencing. I am hoping we will see them strike a deal with AEW to develop a wrestling title for the company. With a handful of the executives for AEW being video game nerds, I have total faith they won’t screw up a video game the way WWE has with their 2k series.
Modern Warfare 2 Remaster
I have played Modern Warfare (2019) more than any other Call of Duty title since Modern Warfare 3. I hope the rumors are true that Modern Warfare 2 will get a remaster. If it does, I will absolutely lose my shit.
Basketball League Championship
Lastly, I re-started a basketball team in a low level men’s league a year and a half ago. We have steadily improved over the course of 4 seasons (currently in 5th). We went from winless to two wins to four wins and last season we went 6-5 I believe. Now we sit at 2-2 this season. It has been 5 years since I last won a championship in a league and I want another one. Here’s to hoping for a championship in 2020.
