Happy Wednesday! AEW Fyter Fest concludes tonight. Last week was a solid showing for AEW. Let’s recap on last week’s results and see how I did (bolded were my picks)…

- Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page def. Best Friends
I ended up going a solid 4/5. Ironically the match I missed was one I was fairly certain about. Ultimately Wardlow took the fall so it doesn’t make MJF look weak. But there is trouble brewing in that partnership. We will see how that plays out. Overall, that match was my favorite of the night by far. In addition to MJF being the best heel I have seen in recent years, Luchasaurus was so much fun. He’s a “monster” type of wrestler. He is a big, overpowering force. Yet, he uses many dives and kicks in his offense. His kicks will take your head off. I enjoy his style.
Overall, everything was status quo.
Taz cut a promo last week regarding the re-scheduling of the match between his client Brian Cage and Jon Moxley due to covid19. Moxley’s wife Rene Young (WWE Ring Announcer) tested positive. Taz took it upon himself to take a shot at the WWE machine saying AEW doesn’t run a “sloppy shop.” YESSSSSS! I love it.
Without further ado…let’s get to night 2.
AEW Tag Team Championship Match – (c) Kenny Omega & Hangman Adam Page v Private Party (with Matt Hardy)
While last week’s title match with Best Friends was solid and nothing great, I think this one could be a barn burner. Private Party is one of my favorite tag teams since the first episode of Dynamite. We already know how great Omega and Page are. This should be plenty of high flying, fast paced action.
Pick: Omega and Page
Why: Love me some Private Party, but I think there is a bigger match on the table down the line.
8 Man Tag Team Match – FTR & The Young Bucks v The Butcher and The Blade & Lucha Brothers
This match should be fantastic. The Young Bucks, FTR and Lucha Bros in one match…I’m in. Make no mistake about it though. This match is about two teams and two teams only. That is FTR and The Young Bucks. They have already painted the ceiling for that match to take place.
Pick: FTR and The Young Bucks
Why: Omega and Page are dropping the titles to one of them. This catapults their rivalry.
6 Man Tag Team Match – The Dark Order & Colt Cabana v SoCal Uncensored
I am intrigued. I am not sure how most feel about the Dark Order, more specifically The Exalted One Brodie Lee. I’ve loved him since his debut. He comes across as dark and powerful. That is what the gimmick is supposed to be. Lately, he has been rather nice to Colt Cabana in his recruitment process. Will he join tonight? Is there a swerve on tap as we know the history of The Dark Order and Christopher Daniels (SoCal)?
Pick: The Dark Order and Colt Cabana
Why: After allowing Cabana to score a pinfall, Lee offers him the choice of joining.
Nyla Rose v TBA
I feel like if there was to be a big debut or opponent here, it would be more heavily advertised. Whoever it is, it ends up being a squash.
Pick: Nyla Rose
Why: She needs to re-establish herself as a dominant force.
Lance Archer (with Jake The Snake Roberts) v Joey Janela
I love Janela, but come on. We know who wins this out of the gate.
Pick: Lance Archer
Why: He’s the fucking Murder Hawk.
Chris Jericho v Orange Cassidy
Can’t wait. I have not been more excited for a match in AEW thus far. Orange Cassidy is THE most over person on the roster. When you have awful gimmicks that are great, another dimension of wrestling unfolds. His match with PAC was incredible. The Bastard kept selling Cassidy’s absurdity. We already know Jericho is the GOAT. This is going to be a great one.
Pick: Chris Jericho
Why: The Inner Circle Needs a Win, BAD! Cassidy doesn’t.
