Tom. Mark. Travis. Welcome fucking back.
6 months ago, Blink 182 announced they would be coming back with a new album, tour and the legendary Tom Delonge was coming with them. Of course, the video was a giant sexual innuendo because it wouldn’t be Blink without that.
While I am not a big concert person, you bet your ass I bought tickets for them in Atlanta though. I have never seen them live and now is the perfect time. Whether I am 8 or 31, the angsty kid died and this is the mecca of pop punk for me. Given the man crush I have on this trio, it is a can’t miss concert.
Blink 182 has still been active without Tom. Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio joined in 2015 and stuck around until 2022. Blink recorded two albums during the run.
The gravity of the return is monumental given the messy split from Delonge. More importantly, Mark Hoppus’ stage 4 lymphoma diagnosis, which he has since beaten.
It’s one of the reunions people weren’t sure would happen. But here we are and let’s go!
A last minute announcement of their addition to Coachella ended up being a mighty welcome back party. It was the first live performance of the trio since announcing they were coming. As Mark said in an IG post, “Chemo to Coachella.”
They stole the show for 50 minutes playing their greatest hits like I Miss You, All the Small Things, Feeling This and What’s My Age Again. They of course included their newest single Edging and played their own version of TLC’s No Scrubs. Just amazing.
I honestly just wanted to share some of the videos from Coachella that I have watched repeatedly.
Tom made a grand entrance and welcomes the crowd with an up yours and fuck you.
